secual assault hotline

Secual Assault Hotline - You can take an active role in increasing your safety or the safety of those you care about. While there's no way to eliminate the chance that something could happen, there are strategies that can reduce your risk or give you the confidence to prevent sexual assault.

Sexual assault is a violent crime - hostile attack - an attempt to injure and humiliate. It is not the result of "uncontrolled passions." Sexual assault can happen to anyone. It can happen anywhere and anytime, in public or in your own home, day or night.

Criminals are by no means strangers. In fact, in one-third of reported cases, the perpetrator is an acquaintance, neighbor, friend or relative of the victim. Sexual assault is one of the most under-reported crimes. Most criminals continue to commit crimes until they are caught, so it is important to report any type of sexual assault to law enforcement.

Consent is an agreement between participants to engage in sexual activity. Consent must be expressed clearly and openly. A verbal and firm expression of consent will help you and your partner understand and respect each other's boundaries.

Consent cannot be given by minors, those intoxicated or impaired by drugs or alcohol, or those who are asleep or unconscious. If someone consents to an activity under threat or duress, this is not considered consent because it is not freely given. Unequal power dynamics, such as engaging in sexual activity with an employee or student, mean that consent is not freely given.

Sexual assault can happen in any situation and is never your fault regardless of the circumstances. However, by taking steps such as traveling with friends and avoiding alcohol and drugs, you can significantly reduce your risks of becoming a victim. Many attacks take place in or near the victim's home.

Don't risk it. Be aware of your surroundings and the people around you - especially when you're alone or in the dark. Know where help is when you need it.

Secual Assault Awareness Month - When you think of people at risk of abuse, what kind of people come to mind? If you're thinking of women and girls, you're not wrong—women and girls are more abused than men and boys. However, other populations such as the elderly, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities and those with brain injuries are at risk of sexual abuse.

The Bodies podcast focuses on women's health. Each episode follows a queer woman (or non-queer) experiencing uncertainty related to her body and their journey to find answers to what happened. One episode featured a woman who suffered from years of abuse but struggled to find help, ultimately unable to function at work. This is because he was diagnosed with traumatic brain injury (TBI) from years of abuse.

The most common cause of disability is TBI; About 21 million Americans have one. About 10% of these cases result in seizures, and TBI is common among survivors. If someone has a TBI, they may have symptoms such as dizziness, confusion, or an inability to remember past events. This creates a huge barrier when it comes to reporting sexual abuse, and survivors may not be considered competent to testify in court, which may affect sentencing and defense against future assaults. Also, people with disabilities, not just TBI, often experience abuse more than once, which means that survivors of disabilities are at greater risk.

Sexual Assault Awareness Month During The Covid 19 Pandemic

Another group at particular risk is the elderly, especially those in the care of others or those with dementia. Most of the time, elderly people with dementia cannot accept any sexual activity. Additionally, people with dementia may not be able to testify in court due to memory loss, just like people with TBI. It is important for us to remember and recognize that for many survivors, especially those who cannot support themselves, asking for and receiving help is only part of the battle.

Despite higher rates than non-LGBTQ+ people, LGBTQ+ people are less likely to seek help for assault. A major barrier to seeking help is discrimination, as well as homophobia and transphobia. This can be a barrier in the South or rural areas where there is less open acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community. Regardless of location, people may not know if the services they are looking for are covered, especially if they are seeking first aid.

It is also important to consider that many survivors may share multiple identities, making it difficult to find and receive help for sexual assault. For example, black women who are part of the LGBTQ+ community may experience different barriers than white people who identify as LGBTQ+. Additionally, people may be older, gender nonconforming, or have TBI and other disabilities. We must also consider the role of invisible defects; People with severe mental illness are more likely to be sexually assaulted but less often than the police would believe.

During Sexual Assault Awareness Month, we need to move beyond the narrative that sexual assault only affects a small group of people. When working to combat sexual abuse of all kinds, we must first ask ourselves if we are truly inclusive. This means first confronting domestic racism, sexism, homophobia, ability, ageism or other prejudices. This is especially true at a PWI like NC State, when the facility is dominated by white, able-bodied individuals.

Sexual Assault Awareness

As a college student, it makes sense to focus on preventing sexual harassment in college. But as active citizens of society, we must remember that sexual violence and prevention does not begin or end on college campuses. Even if you have not been sexually harassed, you may know someone who has. Instead of limiting our advocacy efforts to the identities we know and understand, we should expand our reach to include marginalized populations and use our platforms to support those most vulnerable. How can we do this? Some good places to start: April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). Every year, we dedicate this month to raise awareness about sexual assault and other forms of gender-based violence. The programs and events listed below provide opportunities to educate ourselves, support survivors, and connect our communities to create change.

A small device that can turn a gun into a submachine gun has surfaced in Connecticut, according to police reports.

Often referred to as a Glock "switch" or "chip," the device quickly attaches to a gun and changes the weapon from firing just one round each time the trigger is pulled to the firing position. until the trigger is up.

Police in Connecticut have confiscated some of the devices in recent years, but it's unclear how many are in the state, according to police reports. Advocates say they pose a danger to the public because they increase the danger of bystanders from shooting and because they are easily accessible to criminals.

"It's a combination of bad things," said former state legislator Mike Lawler, who authored the state's "red flag" law. which allows the police to confiscate someone's gun if they are a danger to themselves or others. "These things are very easy to find and cheap."

The coin machine is commonly known as an autocautery machine. Legally, the machine itself is a machine gun under federal law. Fully automatic rifles are strictly regulated by law and are rarely seen in violent crimes, but the cheapness of the devices has made it easier for criminals around the country to convert them. gun as a gun. Now, guns have been the subject of deadly incidents across the country—including a deadly attack on police in Houston last year. One policeman was killed and another was injured.

Lawler, who also serves on the New Haven Police Commission, said about a dozen car bombs have been found by the city's police department this year. . He said that these machines are strictly illegal to buy or own, but they can be bought online for about $20 to $25.

"It's a very difficult situation and it won't be long before there are accidents here and these accidents have happened in other places," added Lawler.

Last September, a man wanted on drug charges attacked police in Texas, killing Houston police officer William " Bill” Jeffrey in a hail of bullets and wounded another policeman. The suspect was also shot, according to officials. Police recovered automatic fire from body camera footage of the shooter as they tried to convince the suspect, Deon Ledet, to surrender.

"I think this is the case...if most law enforcement officers come across these things, they probably won't know," said Lawler. "It's just a bunch of little pieces."

Other guns can be replaced with full fire, Lawlor said. But the Glock is a popular brand of handgun in the United States, and many are carried by law.

Why The Glock 18 Might Just Be The Gun That Can't Be Beat

Federal investigations are encouraging in some cases to reveal vehicles shipped to the United States from Chinese manufacturers. In other cases, the devices are made at home using 3D printers.

Lawlor suggested that a first step could be a government campaign to help law enforcement and the public know about these devices. When the police identify them and make an arrest, the federal government is usually involved in the case, Lawler said.

For years, the rarity and cost of machine guns kept them from being used in violent crimes.

In 1934, authorities shot and killed Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow in Louisiana, the same year that Congress passed the National Children's Act, which required guns and other types of firearms. to register with the federal government. This is the action that followed the bloody massacre of St. Valentine's Day in 1929, where seven gang members were brought down by a rival gang in Chicago. The killers raised machine guns. The Firearms Protection Act of 1986 further strengthened access to machine guns, prohibiting civilians from owning or selling weapons they did not own.

"I've heard law enforcement in other parts of the country refer to this as ... 'the scariest thing that's ever been on the road,'" he said. said Jeremy Stein, executive director of Connecticut Against Gun Violence. Groups that support stricter laws.

The device works by "stretching" the firing mechanism, Stein said, similar to a trigger, a device designed to create semi-automatic weapons that simulate the speed of fire. a fully automatic weapon.

"There is no public purpose - there is no good reason to own any of these things," he added.

"The other problem, in general, is that the people who are promoting these things don't know what they're doing, and it's very difficult to be successful," Lawler said. "So if you have a decent person shooting these things, bullets are going to fly everywhere."

Waterbury police said the change makes the gun a "weapon of war" under state law and charges those charged in the case under the law.

Because such devices are classified as machine guns under federal law, those caught could also face federal charges.

In Massachusetts, state law enforcement arrested a man they say was in possession of 38 "switchable" Glock revolvers in early August, including several weapons.

Both ordinary beatings and beatings on the basis of bodily harm are mixed offenses, and prosecutors may choose to proceed with convictions or subpoenas depending on the severity of the offense, but aggravated assault is An invaluable offense is a crime.

For almost all criminal offenses in Canada, the Crown must specify the date, time and jurisdiction over which the offense occurred. These are usually easy to judge. Then an important factor is whether the accused is the perpetrator or a party to the crime. This usually means identifying the accused and placing them at the crime scene. When these elements are created or confirmed, the crown must state the individual elements of the offense beyond reasonable doubt.

For aggravated assault, the crown must show that the accused used force on the victim Without their consent. What Is Aggravated Assault In Virginia?

What is the difference between a physical injury and a physical injury? They both have the same element of aggression that must be intentionally performed directly or indirectly against another person without consent. Both have additional requirements where serious injuries must occur. The main difference between a beating that causes bodily injury and a more serious violation is the severity of the injury.

Violence causing bodily harm is stated in Article 267 (b) of the Penal Code. For beatings that are considered to be in accordance with the level of bodily harm, the injury must have disrupted the health or comfort of the victim and, moreover, was only temporary or minor. Injuries must last longer than shorter and must be slightly more than characteristic. Physical damage can also include trauma. Physical damage is lower to cover than range attacks.

Another difference is that aggravated violence is a priceless offense, while bodily harm is a hybrid and the Crown can choose how to prosecute it.

To reach the level of physical damage and injury must temporarily exceed, meaning it lasts more than a few days. That it is not permanent or temporary. Minor means the injury is minor or minor. Injuries must be both temporary and minor so as not to be classified as bodily harm. The court ruled that it was not necessary to call for medical evidence to confirm the physical harm. The victim's evidence is sufficient to substantiate the injury.

In most cases, scratching will not be considered physical damage. Bruises that are noticeable for more than a week or that may be on the face or neck for a long time can be considered as physical damage and in some cases can be more severe. But they must be considered as a case for a reason.

Examples of bodily harm include injuries such as a broken nose, bruises, and bruises that are more common in minors. Sore throat and other pain that lasts longer than the temporary number. Bruises on the face or other parts of the body that last for more than a few days or a week (indefinitely).

A small device that can turn a gun into a water gun has been discovered in Connecticut, according to a police report.

The device, commonly known as a Glock "switch" or "chip", can be automatically attached to the pistol, switching the weapon to fire only one shot each time the trigger is pulled so that it can fire until it is fully loaded.

Police reports say a few devices have been found by police in Connecticut in recent years, though it's unclear how many of them there are in the state. Human rights activists say it threatens the public because it increases the risk of shooting bystanders, and because it appears to be easy for criminals to take.

Former state lawmaker Mike Lawlor wrote the "red flag" law that allows police to disarm someone if they pose a danger to themselves or others. "These things are easy to come by and very cheap."

A similar tool is the so-called Auto-detect technique. Legally, the device itself is considered a water gun under federal law. Fully automatic guns are legal and rarely seen in violent crimes, but the high cost of firearms has made it easier for criminals around the country to turn their guns into automatics. Now those weapons are showing up in deadly incidents across the country — including a police shooting in Houston last year that killed one officer and injured another.

Lawlor, who also serves on the New Haven Board of Commissioners, said the city's police department has seen about a dozen burned vehicles this year. He said that buying or possessing these devices is strictly illegal, but you can find them online for $20 to $25.

"I think it's because ... a lot of law enforcement officers probably don't know these things if they come across them," Lawlor said. "It's just a small area."

Lawlor said other guns could be modified to be fully automatic. But Glocks are a popular brand in America, and many are carried by law enforcement.

A federal investigation revealed that auto ignition coils were sometimes shipped to the U.S. from factories in China. In other cases, the device is made at home using a 3D printer.

Lawlor said the first step could be a campaign to help law enforcement and the public identify the devices. When police do identify who they are and arrest them, Lawlor said, the federal government usually gets involved in the case.

For decades, the scarcity and high cost of water guns made them almost impossible to use in violent crimes.

In 1934, the same year authorities shot Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow in Louisiana, Congress enacted the National Firearms Act, a law that required handguns and other types of firearms to be registered with the government. This action followed the bloody St. Valentine's Day massacre of 1929, in which seven robbers were killed by a rival gang in Chicago. The killers used guns. The Gun Owners Protection Act of 1986 tightened the rules on machine guns, prohibiting civilian ownership or sale of illegal weapons.

Basically, Stein said, the device "overrides" the firing mechanism of a rifle, similar to a bump-stock device, which is a device designed to create an automatic weapon that simulates a full rate of fire.

"There's no legitimate civilian purpose — there's no legitimate reason to own any of these things," he added.

"The other problem is that generally, people who shoot these things don't know what they're doing, and it's really hard to attack them," Lawlor said. "So if you get people who like to shoot those things, bullets are going to go everywhere."

In August, state and local police said they found a modified .40 caliber pistol and a corkscrew in a cache of guns and illegal drugs. Police say the Waterbury man has been charged with three felonies under the state's assault weapons ban, among other crimes — two more guns, military-grade rifles, found during the search.

Waterbury police said the amendment made the gun an "assault weapon" under state law, and charged the defendant in the case under the law.

Earlier this year, a New Haven man was sentenced by a federal judge to 120 days in prison and three years of probation for selling "two Glock conversion kits" to a person who sent him on social media.

The man, Angel Reyes Rodriguez, pleaded guilty to illegal possession and carrying of a firearm in a US court in 2021, the US Attorney's Office said.

On May 3, 2019, someone who contacted Reyes-Rodriguez about a Glock handgun posted a photo of it online. During the interview, Reyes Rodriguez said he had a friend who had a "chip" that could make the gun fire automatically, according to court records. The dispatcher called Reyes-Rodriguez who was cooperating with law enforcement. The records show that investigators recorded Reyes Rodriguez selling the witness "two conversion tools" for $500.

The account of events contained in Reyes-Rodriguez's sentencing affidavit, which he did not dispute, states that the witness immediately handed over the equipment to law enforcement. The tool is marked "Made in Austria" and has the Glock logo.

"In fact, Glock does not, and never has, made a gun modification device," the court filing states.

State prosecutors asked the court to impose a much longer sentence than Reyes Rodriguez's sentence, saying that each device "could transform a Glock handgun into an automatic weapon capable of inflicting serious bodily injury."

"In the wrong hands, these weapon modification tools enable a bad actor to destroy a company in minutes," the government wrote in its memo. Rating: STS Weapons Select-Reload Fire/Rewind Selector Fire Switch for Glock Pistols (Video!)

Finally, our new trigger guard features a revolutionary rivet assembly process, making it the longest lasting and most reliable trigger guard replacement on the market.

Bundle (clip + Trigger Sheath)

Running these triggers and connectors on my 19X, 19 and 26 Gen 5. I've had about 300 rounds through them and zero problems so far. With my lyman digital gauge the whole thing pulls about 4.5 lbs

Bought one for my 19X, love how smooth and crisp it is. Here's everything I buy now, and I've tried a few over the years.

Appena fatto montare del mio armiere, ed anche la molla del percussore, sembra di avere un altra pistola, neppure paragone allo scatto che avevo prima, ottimo prodotto, bravi!
